Managing Director Biography
Angelique Thompson founded SuccessPoint Consulting in February 2017 after over 25 years’ experience in classic HR roles in some of the largest corporates in KZN. Realising that she could offer a unique and valuable set of skills to businesses of various sizes in KZN and the rest of South Africa, she took the plunge and decided to forge a career outside of classic, corporate business structures
A broad cross-section of HR responsibilities in companies covering both retail and manufacturing means that Angie is well placed to have an insight into your business – whatever sphere or industry it may operate in. Her career has taken her through household names such as Natal Wholesale Jewellers (NWJ), Smith & Nephew PTY Ltd, the Edcon Group (Edgars) and Sumitomo Rubber South Africa (Dunlop Tyres.)
Her experience spans across the entire HR Generalist functions including remuneration, benefits, job structuring and grading, HR systems and processes, performance management, talent management, succession planning and employee relations. Add her certification as a DISC and Motivations Practitioner – she can offer it all. Finally, she has also managed large cross-functional projects with significant IT

We engaged with SuccessPoint Consulting (SPC) to run DiSC workshops for our sales staff as part of a personal development program we initiated. This program came about after a discussion with SPC with regards sourcing of various training programs. The advice given at that time was rather start with personal development as until people are aware of their own and others’ personality profiles, they may not embrace other more formal trainings. This advice was 100% accurate and gave us the perfect starting point. The DiSC workshops were very well received and excellently facilitated by Angelique, the SPC Managing Director. Her extensive industry and HR knowledge and her ability to relate to everyone in the room kept the team engaged interested and learning! We have seen excellent results thanks to the DiSC workshops in particular with the team dynamics and the way the individuals respect and “read” each other and their customers.
When theft happened at the Forest Hills Sports Club we were extraordinarily lucky to have the guidance of Angie Thompson and SuccessPoint Consulting to see us through the storm. She was a calm voice of reason and an advocate of fairness to the employees and the business.
